John's Head
€ 300,00
“John’s Head” is a solemn and powerful meditation on martyrdom, secrecy, and the enduring presence of esoteric knowledge. This piece reimagines the decapitated head of John the Baptist — not as an ending, but as a preserved vessel of light and gnosis.
His head rests inside a stylized grail, suggesting a Grail-Baptist connection often whispered about in mystical traditions and gnostic lore. A radiant halo of yellow light bursts from behind his curls, symbolizing his sanctity and the illumination he offered humanity — even in death.
Draped beside him is a Templar cloak, marked with the red cross of the order. The inclusion suggests John’s central role in the secret beliefs held by the Knights Templar, who were revering him above traditional Christian icons, because they were initiated in the johanites misteries.
At the foot of the image lies a closed book with an eye peering through a triangle — a striking depiction of hidden knowledge and constant watchfulness, perhaps an allusion to the Watcher tradition or forbidden gospels locked from public access.
Beside the book rests a sword, and upon the shroud, a dragon emblem — symbols of guardianship, destruction, and the battle between ignorance and truth.
